Abstract: 

EXPERIMENTing is one of the ways to learn the principles and general results of science that can make students think, discuss and draw conclusions, and ultimately learn. Chemical EXPERIMENTs making students understand. It is a solid way to maintain the visual teaching process and principles to advance the educational goals in chemistry as deeply as possible. EXPERIMENTation has a very high status in chemistry education and considering its benefits and effects will cover all the shortcomings of abstract chemistry education. Understanding students in many topics in chemistry textbooks guarantees adequate attention and intelligent implementation of the guidelines of each EXPERIMENT to learn more and deeper topics. In this article, with the aim of reviewing the materials related to the LABORATORY and teaching chemistry based on EXPERIMENTs, along with their advantages, goals and disadvantages, which has been done by literature analysis method, background and research results, and by bringing examples of research works to applications was dealt with in chemistry training. The study method is searching Persian databases and reviewing articles, books and dissertations related to chemistry education. Finally, suggestions are made for the widespread use of laboratories in schools to improve chemistry education.

Abstract: 

In this paper a simple qualitative model of growth of a mixed layer adjacent to a uniform layer with a stably stratified layer is presented. The entrainment of a stably stratified layer into a turbulent mixed layer in a confined region was studied in LABORATORY for different Richardson numbers. The results for entrainment near a density stratified layer show that the entrainment rate is a weaker function of Ri than the case with a step density profile. It is also shown that the internal waves in the stratified region, with typical buoyancy period of about 10 s may interact with turbulence near the interface and create a non-uniform entrainment rate as an oscillatory behavior with a typical time scale of 150 s. The process is qualitatively consistent with processes associated with internal waves interaction with turbulence and create a momentarily buoyancy flux with different signs. Results of lidar observations of atmospheric boundary layer also show that the oscillation of aerosol layer is probably due to non-uniform entertainment in the interface between the mixed layer and free atmosphere. Although there seems to be a qualitative similarity between entrainment behavior at the top of the atmospheric mixed layer and LABORATORY EXPERIMENTs "mixing box", but the two are quite different as lab EXPERIMENTs are in an enclosure without mean flow, while the top of the mixed layer is a free solid boundary flow which may be associated with mean flow shear.

Abstract: 

Continued usage of gravel envelope for drain pipes is encountered with difficulties such as preparing, transport and unjustified cost efficiency. Therefore, use of geotextile filters which cost less and have less problems are being more widely recommended. This study deal with the evaluation of three synthetic drain envelope's filter performance as compared with conventional envelope. First, soils samples were collected from 2 different region from the study site. According to the physical and chemical evaluation of soil samples they were basically the same. Therefore the study was done on a single sample. Next, 3 types of geotextile filters of pp450, pp700, pp900 which has been found suitable were selected. A gravel envelope according to USBR standard was also selected. A standard permeameter was used at 4 different hydraulic head (25, 50, 75, 100 cm) for the test. Variation in drain flow rate, hydraulic conductivity, gradiant ratio, relative hydraulic conductivity were measured. Based on the results of this study we conclude that none of the filters (gravel or geotextile) were susceptible to clogging. Drain flow rate through the gravel envelope were nearly twice as much as the flow through geotextile filters. The pp450 filter were to have the best performance and is recommended for this situation. Geotextile filters were found to be more appropriate for cases where water table is to be lowered slower to maintain more moisture storage.

EXPERIMENTbased education is a robust method for maintaining the visual process of teaching and principles for furthering educational objectives in chemistry. The LABORATORY is the complementary sector and the focus of empirical science education, which provides students with participation in science-related activities and learning the scientific method. Since most of the findings of empirical sciences are obtained through observation and implementation of EXPERIMENTs, therefore, the best way to effectively learn empirical sciences is to conduct EXPERIMENTs and live observation of scientific evidences. In the present research, at first, the role of the LABORATORY in the teaching of EXPERIMENTal sciences, including chemistry, will be discussed, the goals and approach to implementing this method will be addressed, and the views of several experts regarding the importance of LABORATORY teaching, the stages of the LABORATORY teaching method, and also separately, the ways of presenting LABORATORY activities, merits and limitations of this method are examined, suggestions for using this method as much as possible in schools in order to improve chemistry education are presented. In the end, the process of making colored crystals by first-secondary students is described.

Abstract: 

Nowadays, smartphones and their software play an important role in facilitating the teaching-learning process. Some of these softwires can help a lot in performing tests or analyzing their results. In this study, using a mobile application software, after taking a picture of the surface of the container on which the oil was spread, the Avogadro number was determined by determining the thickness of the oleic acid monolayer. This method of measuring the Avogadro number by imaging the oil stain with a mobile phone and then calculating its level by the software, compared to other physical methods of determining the oil area (such as drawing a shape on glass and then paper) in less time and more accurately is possible. This calculates the area of the oleic acid monolayer accurately. In this method, while performing the classical EXPERIMENT of measuring Avogadro number by counting method, which is necessary for students' deep understanding of this important physical constant, it is possible to increase the accuracy of calculations and reduce the measurement steps.

Abstract: 

EXPERIMENTing is one of the ways to learn the general principles and results of science, which can make students think, discuss, draw conclusions, and ultimately make learning desirable. Helping students understand many topics of chemistry textbooks ensures sufficient attention and intelligent implementation of the guidelines of each EXPERIMENT to learn topics even more deeply. The present research was conducted with the aim of exploring the ways of increasing students' interest and learning in chemistry by conducting chemistry EXPERIMENTs during the academic year of 1402-1403. The statistical population of the research was selected from among 24 female students of the twelfth grade of the EXPERIMENTal field of Mahbobeh Danesh school in Ashtian, Iran. This research was investigated with the action research method and using individual findings, observation, interviews with experts, study of scientific sources, and researcher made questionnaire among twelfth grade students. The findings indicate that conducting chemistry EXPERIMENTs while teaching chemistry led to more learning in the 12th chemistry lesson and increased students' interest in chemistry. It also caused an increase in their motivation and consolidation of the 12th chemistry content in students’ minds.
